Meet Sonya Caceres - Elite Artistry Voice/Piano Teacher

We are very pleased to have Sonya Caceres joining our team of teachers at Kathy's Music as an Elite Artistry Instructor.

Sonya Fandozzi - Caceres is a spinto soprano from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Caceres has performed and toured as Gretel in Humperdinck’s Hansel & Gretel with Opera Theater of Pittsburgh. Sonya has also sung in concert with performers from the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. In 2012, she was the soprano soloist with Westmoreland Choral Society and the Pittsburgh Festival Orchestra on Carmina Burana & also on Handel’s Messiah.  Sonya received Honorable Mention and First Alternate Status with the Pittsburgh Concert Society Major Artists Competition in 2012.  She was named a winner of the Duquesne University Concert Competition.  Sonya was the soloist on Mahler’s, “Um Mitternacht,” with Duquesne University’s Wind Symphony.    Mrs. Caceres can be heard singing in the opening segment of Supermarkets, Inc., which originally aired January 2011 on CNBC.  She was also filmed for WQED Pittsburgh’s special on the restoration of the Carnegie Library’s Music Hall in Carnegie, PA.   Sonya was the soloist on a world tour with the Chamber Singers of Duquesne University performing in Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Estonia, and Russia.  She has also performed in Italy & Peru. Sonya was a featured artist in the Savannah Music Festival (2014) in their production of Suor Angelica.  She has also been a studio artist with Sherill Milnes VOICExperience program.  

Sonya’s biggest accomplishment yet is that she is a new mom to a 12 week old daughter!
